Travel Sketching—Paint a Watercolor Postcard

Capture the beauty of Lake Glenville in a sketchbook-sized watercolor that you can take home—or even mail to a friend. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the basics of travel sketching by creating a hand-painted postcard inspired by one of the area’s most scenic views.

We’ll combine simple pen sketching with loose watercolor techniques to create a charming keepsake that reflects the spirit of the mountains. Along the way, you’ll learn how to simplify a landscape, add expressive details, and use a limited color palette for beautiful results.

And you’ll have everything you need to keep sketching after class. Each student will receive a Viviva Mini Colorsheets watercolor set, a water brush, a waterproof marker, and three additional blank postcards to take home and paint later.

No drawing or painting experience is necessary. You’ll leave with a finished Lake Glenville postcard, a portable watercolor kit, and the confidence to capture memories wherever your travels take you.
